Lisa Fitts, MD AAU Volunteer & Sport Director, Cheerleading
It is with our deepest and heartfelt regrets to inform you that Lisa Fitts, a loving mother and faithful AAU Volunteer (Sport Director - Cheerleading) received her wings this morning and has taken flight to be with her LORD! Lisa passed away after a brief illness surrounded by her family and friends. We all loved Lisa and loved working with her. She will be sorely missed by her AAU family.
Lisa Fitts Family Hour Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at the Calvin Scruggs Funeral Home, 1412 E Preston St, Baltimore, MD 21213.
Lisa's Wake and Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at New Antioch Baptist Church, 2401 St. Paul Street . Her Wake is scheduled from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and Funeral Service is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
We send our condolences to Lisa's family on her passing. May our friendship and prayers give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.
New Sports Director Appointed
Maryland District AAU Governor Ben Dubose announced today the appointment of Master George Glen Ames to the position of Taekwondo Sports Director for the Maryland District.
This appointment was effective November1, 2017 due to the resignation of Scott Fiorillo on October 31, 2017.
Master Ames has been a member of the Maryland District AAU Taekwondo program for many years. In addition, he has partnered with District events and represented the sport at District meetings. "I am confident that under Master Ames' leadership and experience the Maryland District Taekwondo program will remain professionally run," said MD District AAU Governor Ben DuBose. "We are grateful to have him on our team and we have great expectations for this exciting sport!"
Coaching Staff for New AAU USA Collegiate Team Named!
Coaching staff for new AAU USA Collegiate Team namedLAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.—Longtime AAU Baseball coaching colleagues Mike Graham (pictured left) and Chris Cummings (right) have left the Collegiate Baseball League Europe’s Sant Boi Barcelona Falcons in order to become the coaching staff of the new AAU USA International Collegiate Team.
Representing Spain in the CBLE, Sant Boi Barcelona won back to back regular season championships in 2017 and 2016. Graham and Cummings depart as the winningest coaches in the league and franchise history. They compiled a 21-8-1 (.717) record in two years at Barcelona, consistently recruiting and assembling highly rated rosters.
