We Had A Terrific Weekend!

If you weren’t in the gym, you truly missed something special. The 2026 Maryland AAU Boys Basketball Championships brought the heat April 25–26, as 28 teams from across the region battled it out in an unforgettable showcase of talent, heart, and determination.

These young athletes didn’t just come to play—they came to compete. The stakes were high, the intensity was real, and every game delivered moments that players, coaches, and families will be talking about for a long time. Congratulations to our winning teams, dedicated coaches, and every single participant who made this tournament a tremendous success!

Maryland District AAU Spotlight: McCarroll Nole Publishes His Third Book!

The Maryland District Amateur Athletic Union (MD AAU) is proud to recognize Mr. McCarroll Nole, former MD AAU District Lt. Governor, former Golf Sports Director, and current District Staff Writer, on the publication of his third book, Son of Gubala!

Nole's latest work is an exciting murder mystery filled with danger, deceit, intrigue, espionage, plot twists, and suspense!

RUDY GAY: Still Making Moves!

"Big Truck" Brings It All Home

RUDY "BIG TRUCK" GAY, a 17-season NBA standout, retired in 2024. Drafted in the 8th round by the Houston Rockets in 2006, the 6’8” small/power forward played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings, and San Antonio Spurs before playing his last stint with the Utah Jazz. He is a FIBA World Cup Champion and winner of the NBA Cares Community Assist Award for outstanding efforts in the community and for his philanthropic and charitable work.

The Maryland District AAU is pleased to announce that TRACEY E. ESTEP has completed her Doctor of Human Services Degree, with a Specialization in Leadership and Organization Management, from highly-accredited Capella University.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to Dr. Estep's dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Earning a Doctoral Degree represents years of hard work, sacrifice, and a passion for lifelong learning - qualities that have long been evident in her leadership and service to the Maryland District AAU and the communities we serve.
